Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Singapore on September 4, 2024 as part of his two-nation tour. Prime Minister of Singapore Lawrence Wong… has invited Modi. Hosted in the prestigious Sri Temasek building. 2024 is officially meeting on 5th September. Modi went to Singapore on the invitation of Lawrence Wang. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Modi is visiting Singapore with the aim of attracting investment from that country, enhancing strategic partnership and strengthening bilateral relations. This is Modi’s fifth visit to Singapore as Prime Minister. Modi will also meet Singapore’s President Shanmuga Ratnam at Parliament House. They will meet businessmen in Singapore. Earlier, during Modi’s visit to Brunei, he met Sultan Hasanallah of that country. Modi said that direct flights between the two countries will be started soon.
Trump’s book became a bestseller within hours of its release
Former US President Donald Trump’s new book ‘Save America’ has become a bestseller on Amazon within hours of its release. Despite the hefty price tag of Rs.7728 (92.06 dollars)… it ranked first in the ‘Presidents and Heads of the State Biographies’ list on Amazon. 13th overall. Pension canceled if MLAs change party: Decision in Himachal Pradesh
The Congress government in Himachal Pradesh has taken a key decision on party defections. It has been decided to stop pension provision for MLAs who have switched parties. The State Assembly approved the amendment bill on September 4, 2024. The new rule applies to MLAs who have faced disqualification under the Anti-Defection Act. The Himachal Pradesh Assembly (Members’ Pensions and Allowances) Amendment Bill, 2024 has been introduced in the Assembly by the Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukh to prevent defections. “The MLAs who have been disqualified under the Anti-Defection Act at any point of time will no longer be eligible for pension,” the bill said. According to the laws of Himachal Pradesh, MLAs who have served as MLAs for five years are given a pension of Rs.36 thousand per month.
World Artificial Intelligence Conference
The World Artificial Intelligence (AI) Conference is being held in Hyderabad. This conference will be held for two days on September 5 and 6, 2024. State Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurated the conference. The conference started at 10 am at the Hyderabad International Convention Center (HCC). Seem Revanth starts. State Industries and IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu and Union Coal Mines Minister Kishan Reddy participated in the programme.
The theme of this conference is ‘Making AI work for everyone’. This is the first time that the country is hosting the Global Artificial Intelligence Summit. The Telangana government is organizing this conference ambitiously to attract the attention of the world in the field of IT. Around 2 thousand famous people and representatives of organizations from all over the world in the field of AI are attending the conference. Sal Khan, head of Khan Academy, who is attracting attention in the field of AI, Daniela Kanz from IBM, Peter Diamandis from X Prize Foundation and others are participating in this conference. They share their ideas for the development of the AI sector. Future opportunities and new innovations will be discussed. AI impact on society, regulation and challenges are discussed. Research on new technologies, startup demos and innovative projects under development will be showcased at the conference. Apart from the main stage, four additional stages have been set up for the two-day conference. The government has decided to set up AI CITY in an area of 200 acres in the fourth city to be built in Hyderabad. The government hopes that this AI Global conference will inform the world about the priority given by the state government to IT and the favorable environment in the state.
India is the number one producer of plastic waste: 10.2 million tonnes annually
India ranks first in the world in producing plastic waste, says a new study. 10.2 million tonnes of plastic waste produced annually in India… is more than double that of other countries. According to a study by researchers from the University of Leeds in Britain, 57 million tons of plastic waste is produced annually in the whole world. These wastes are filling up from the seas to the mountains. Two-thirds of this waste comes from the southern hemisphere, the study said. About 4 km of this waste produced annually. m. Researchers say that up to New York City’s Central Park could be filled to the height of the 380-meter-tall Empire State Building. They have studied the plastic waste produced locally from 50 thousand cities and towns around the world for the journal ‘Nature’. Lagos, Nigeria has been identified as the city that produces the most plastic waste in the world. Delhi and Karachi are also included in this list.
