First private space walk in space : Space X feat
Elon Musk’s space agency ‘Space X’ has created history. Conducted first private spacewalk in space. The four will go into orbit on September 10, 2024 by a Falcon-9 rocket under the ‘Polaris Dawn’ project. One of them, prominent businessman Jared Issac Mann, stepped out of the first capsule on September 12 and took a space walk. Apart from professional astronauts, Issac Mann created history as the first person to conduct a space walk in space. Later- Space X engineer Sarah Gillis followed him. They tested the space suit made by Space X.
Paperless Voting in Panchayat By Election
The State Election Commission of Madhya Pradesh has successfully conducted paperless voting in a polling center for Panchayat by-election in Bhopal district. Officials said that 84 percent of votes were cast in this voting, which was conducted under the pilot project for the first time in the country. The pilot voting was held on 11th September 2024 at Rathua Ratanpur Gram Panchayat 295 polling station under Bairasiya Development Block. In this, voters’ signatures and fingerprints are recorded electronically to record the voter’s identity did Checking of voting percentage and ballot calculations continued online. After the voting, the ballot tallies are made available to the candidates as well as the polling agents on their e-mail id. 26 models had to be filled to report to the polling center after completing all the processes in the panchayat election. USA selling HAASW to India
America has decided to sell ‘High altitude anti submarine warfare (HAASW) sono buoy worth 5.28 crore dollars to our country to further increase India’s war capabilities in sea waters. Sono buoys are launched from space. Electro-mechanical sensors in these detect sounds in the water and transmit them to remote processors. The US said the HAASWs would be useful for Bhatar to carry out anti-submarine warfare operations from MH-60R helicopters.
Short-range missile system test successful
Baleshwar: The Defense Research Development Organization (DRDO) and the Navy have successfully tested a short-range surface-to-air missile system. The test was conducted on September 12, 2024 from the Integrated Test Center at Chandipur on the coast of Odisha. As part of this, the defense officials said that the missile launched from the vertical launcher placed on the ground accurately hit the target which was moving at a high speed at a low altitude.
Singapore Literature Award for a writer of Indian origin
Prashanti Ram (32), an Indian-origin teacher, has won the prestigious Singapore Literature Award. In 2023, she got this award for her English fiction story ‘Nine Yard Sharies’. Prashanthi is working as a Professor at Nani Yang Technological University in the background of a Tamil Brahmin family spread over generations in Singapore, Sydney, New York and Connecticut. Prashanti was felicitated by a three-member panel led by poet Cyril Wong at the main award ceremony held at the Victoria Theater in Singapore. She explained well how women cause trouble for each other, how they push the men in the families into problems. Shubigi Rao of Indian origin got the award in the non-fiction category (English). ‘Pulp 3: ‘An Inti Mate Inventory of the Banishk Book’ got this honor. A total of 17 writers, translators and comedians were presented with the Singapore Literature Awards.
Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana-4
Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana-4 will be implemented from 2024-25 to 2028-29 with Rs.70,125 crore. Under this, 62,500 kilometers of roads will be constructed for 25,000 residential areas without roads. In this, the central government’s share is Rs.49,087 crores and the state’s share is Rs.21,087 crores. Between 2024-25 and 2031-32, infrastructure development programs for hydropower projects will be undertaken at a cost of Rs.12,461 crore. Along with roads, bridges, transmission lines, railways and communication systems will be built. With that, the Center aims to increase the hydropower capacity to 31,350 MW by 2031-32. Another Rs.14,000 crore will be given as incentives for electric vehicles.
Mission Mausam will be implemented with a budget of Rs.2 thousand crores to release accurate weather forecasts. For this, modern radars, satellite systems, high-speed computers, artificial intelligence etc. will be assembled. Provides accurate forecasts required for agriculture. Nowcast system will be implemented in next five years to replace present forecast system..
11,637 crores for India with the World Cup

PM E-DRIVE is a place of fame for the promotion of electric vehicles
- PM E-DRIVE allocation of Rs.10,900 crore
- PM-E-Buss Seva payment security mechanism Scheme with Rs.3,435 crores
The Union Cabinet has approved 2 schemes worth Rs 14,335 crore to replace FAME to promote the use of electric vehicles (EVs) in the country. Out of which, Rs.10,900 crore has been allocated for PM Electric drive revolution in innovative vehicle enhancement (PM E-DRIVE) scheme. It will be valid for two years. Rs.3,435 crore has been allocated for the PM-PM-E-Buss Seva payment security mechanism Scheme (PSM).
How to PM EDRIVE ?
- Rs.3,679 crore: Subsidies will be provided for two-wheelers, three-wheelers, ambulances, trucks and other EVs in the electricity sector.
- 28 lakh vehicles: 24.79 lakh two-wheelers, 3.16 lakh three-wheelers, 14,028 buses will benefit from this scheme.
- Rs.500 crore: For e-ambulances
- Rs.500 crore: will be provided for promotion of e-trucks.
- Rs.4,391 crores : will be provided for procurement of 14,028 E-buses. CESL calculates the demand for these in 9 cities including Hyderabad.
- Up to Rs.2,000 crore: will be earmarked for setting up of public charging stations (EVPCS) for electric vehicles.
PM-E BUSS Seva Scheme
- Public Transport Corporations (PTAs) have been allocated Rs.3,435 crore for the procurement of E-Buses and their maintenance for 12 years. The funds will be used to get 38,000 e-buses on the roads between 2024-25 and 2028-29.
