The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially postponed the SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2025, which was originally scheduled from August 13 to 30. The exam will now begin in the first week of September 2025. This sudden change impacts nearly 28 lakh candidates who had registered for the recruitment of 14,582 Group B and C posts across various central government departments.
Why Was SSC CGL 2025 Postponed?
According to the notice released on August 8, 2025, the decision was made due to ongoing technical challenges faced during recent SSC exams. These included server crashes, system malfunctions, and disruptions in the Computer-Based Examination (CBE) process. The Commission is now conducting a thorough evaluation of its exam platform to ensure smooth conduct going forward.
What Happens Next?
- A revised exam schedule for SSC CGL 2025 and other upcoming SSC exams will be published soon on the official SSC website.
- City intimation slips and admit cards will be released 7–8 days before the new exam dates.
- Candidates are advised to regularly check the SSC portal for updates and download their admit cards once available.
OTR Edit Window Reopened
SSC has also reopened the One Time Registration (OTR) edit facility from August 14 to August 31, 2025. Candidates who wish to update any details in their profile must do so within this window, as no changes will be allowed after that.
