UPSC Introduces a New User-Friendly Portal for Exam Applications

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has revamped its exam registration system with a new Online Application Portal, designed to make the process smoother, faster, and more user-friendly for aspirants. With this latest update, the older One-Time Registration (OTR) method is now obsolete, and candidates must transition to the new structured platform available at upsconline.nic.in.

What’s New in the UPSC Portal? 🚀

The upgraded portal streamlines the exam application journey with four structured modules, each serving a distinct purpose:

🔹 Account Creation: Candidates must first set up a user account before accessing other sections.

🔹 Universal Registration: This module collects general candidate details applicable across various UPSC exams, allowing users to fill in common information ahead of time.

🔹 Common Application Form: A flexible section where students can input shared details for multiple exams and update them when needed.

🔹 Examination Section: The core hub of the portal—this hosts active notifications, exam-specific application forms, and real-time application status updates, ensuring a seamless submission process.

By breaking the process into stages, UPSC aims to reduce last-minute rushes and help candidates complete crucial steps well in advance of exam notifications.

New Registration Now Mandatory 📌

Since the old OTR system has been phased out, all aspirants must register afresh on the new platform.

✅ Uploading documents is required.
Aadhaar verification is highly encouraged to speed up identity confirmation.

The official launch of the portal took place on May 28, 2025, and it will now serve as the standard registration system for all upcoming UPSC exams.

The first exams under this system will include:
📍 Combined Defence Services (CDS) Exam-II, 2025
📍 National Defence Academy (NDA) & Naval Academy (NA) Exam-II, 2025

UPSC advises candidates to register early to avoid last-minute technical issues and ensure a hassle-free application process.

How to Get Started? 🔎

Detailed step-by-step guidelines for each module are available on the portal homepage, ensuring smooth navigation and effortless registration.
