Recruitment of 354 Veterinary Assistant Posts

Immediate Recruitment of 354 Veterinary Assistant Posts to Revive Rural Animal Health Services

The Animal Husbandry Department is taking immediate steps to fill 354 vacant Veterinary Assistant posts across the state. These posts, left unfilled for the past decade, led to the closure of 354 rural animal health sub-centres, primarily due to the previous government’s inaction and failure to promote Veterinary Assistants (VAs) to Livestock Assistant (LSA) positions.

Recognizing this long-standing issue, representatives from the association brought it to the attention of Department Director Mr. Gopi, who then escalated the matter to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Responding swiftly, the Chief Minister approved the promotion of Veterinary Assistants to LSA roles, resolving seniority disputes among existing staff.

As a result of these promotions, 354 VA posts have now become vacant, and the department is moving forward with plans to fill them with eligible unemployed youth who have completed a Veterinary Diploma.

These appointments are expected to significantly strengthen animal healthcare services in rural areas. The reopening of the long-shuttered sub-centres will ensure that veterinary services reach farmers and livestock owners more effectively, providing a major boost to the rural economy.
