There is a great opportunity for B.E/B.Tech graduates. The Indian Army has released the notification for the Technical Graduate Course (TGC) for January 2026. Recruitment will be conducted through the Services Selection Board (SSB) selection process. Selected candidates will undergo one year of training. During training, a stipend of ₹56,100 per month will be provided. Here are the details of the Indian Army TGC notification, eligibility, selection process, training, etc.:

Eligibility:
Only unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply. Candidates must have passed B.E/B.Tech in the relevant discipline. Final-year engineering students are also eligible to apply. They must submit all required qualification certificates by January 1, 2026.
Age: Must be between 20 and 27 years as on 01.01.2026.
Selection Process:
Candidates will be shortlisted based on the marks obtained in B.E/B.Tech. Cut-off marks will be determined based on each engineering stream. Shortlisted candidates will be called for the SSB selection process.
SSB interviews will be conducted at centers in Prayagraj (UP), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Bengaluru (Karnataka), and Jalandhar (Punjab).
The SSB interview process will be conducted in two stages – Stage 1 and Stage 2 – over five days.
- Stage 1: Includes intelligence-related tests. Only those who qualify in Stage 1 will proceed to Stage 2.
- Stage 2: Spans four days and includes various assessments. Candidates who perform well in Stage 2 will undergo medical tests. Final selections will be made after that.
12-Month Training:
Candidates selected through the SSB process and admitted to the TGC course will undergo one year of training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun. Training will commence in January 2026. A stipend of ₹56,100 will be paid during the training period.
Salary Details:
Upon successful completion of the 12-month training, candidates will be appointed as permanent Lieutenants in the Indian Army. Initially, they will receive a basic salary of ₹56,100 per month under Pay Level 10. Including military service pay, DA, and other benefits, the monthly salary can reach up to ₹1 lakh.
Career Scope:
Those who begin their career as Lieutenants can quickly rise to higher ranks. After 2 years of service, they can be promoted to Captain, after 6 years to Major, and after 13 years to Lieutenant Colonel.
