Eligibility Criteria
To apply, candidates must:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in the relevant discipline.
- Be aged between 21 to 30 years as of January 1, 2025.
- Enjoy age relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years
Application Fee
- ₹200 for General/OBC male candidates.
- No fee for SC/ST, PwBD, and all female candidates.
- Payment must be made online via debit/credit card or net banking.

Selection Process
The UPSC ESE selection involves three stages:
1️⃣ Preliminary Exam (Objective Type)
- Paper I: General Studies & Engineering Aptitude
- 200 questions | 200 marks
- Paper II: Discipline-specific technical paper
- 300 questions | 300 marks
- Total: 500 marks
- Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark deducted for each wrong answer
2️⃣ Mains Exam (Descriptive Type)
- Two papers based on the chosen engineering discipline
- Each paper carries 300 marks
- Total: 600 marks
- No negative marking
3️⃣ Personality Test (Interview)
- Personal interview carries 200 marks
- Final merit is based on total 1300 marks
